!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! success with the RCZ sparks a limited edition run of bespoke trimmed vehicles.
PSA's answer to the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! TT has turned heads in the automotive industry, bringing back the long lost driver engagement synonymous with classic Peugeots. Now enthusiasts can order their very own limited run 'Red Carbon' edition to set them apart from the rest. Although, with a production limited of only 300 units, enthusiasts should get their skates on immediately.
All Red Carbon models will be based upon the current Sport model, with three engine options available. Two 1.6-litre THP petrol units are available, with 156bhp and 200bhp respectively. Obviously a diesel is available in the form of the 2.0-litre HDI 163, just as well as over 40 per cent of RCZ sales in the United Kingdom are powered by this exact engine. 'Spirited' speed freaks will opt for the 1.6-litre THP 200 unit, which provides the best acceleration with a 0-62mph time of 7.6 seconds, however economical enthusiasts will select the diesel with an impressive fuel economy figure of 54.3mpg combined. All three units will be mounted to the current six-speed manual gearbox, which is far superior to the rest of the Peugeot range.
The Red Carbon edition will be available to order in two different colours; Moroccan Red and Nera Black. Furthermore, this limited edition model includes the 'Black Pack', which features matt black roof arches, brilliant black front grill, door mirror covers and brake calipers as standard. Also, the complimentary 'Vision Pack' provides buyers with the added treat of Xenon, directional and self-levelling headlamps, and Onyx black matt 19'' 'Solstice' alloy wheels. Overall improving the image of the vehicle, implying a purposeful and sporting pedigree. An image already interesting with the double-bubble roof and rear windscreen combination.
Whilst the base model's interior echoes the humdrum 308, the Red Carbon edition arrives furnished with ‘Red Carbon’ black style sports front seats trimmed in ‘Simple Leather’, stitched together with red stitching. To top it off, Peugeot have also included a ‘Red Carbon’ style dashboard, sports steering wheel and short shift gear lever to entice potential buyers.
From a technology stand-point, the special RCZ is well equipped, featuring the PEUGEOT Connect Navigation (RT6), Audio, CD and satellite navigation system and PEUGEOT Connect USB Box with Bluetooth connectivity.
Reliability issues have become synonymous with PSA products. Despite the reputation, the Auto Express Driver Power Survey found five Peugeot models to be worthy of placement in the Top 50 list, earning the brand the title of 'Most Improved Manufacturer'. Peugeot's 2008 crossover earned the number 11 spot, and the RCZ even grasped a number 20 placement. In fact, the diesel Peugeot RCZ even earned the title of DieselCar Magazine Sports Car of the Year 2014, for the fifth consecutive year. So maybe the time to finally consider the Peugeot brand as more than a Friday afternoon job company has arrived.
The Peugeot RCZ Red Carbon LE is certainly an interesting buy for Peugeot sports car enthusiasts, and would be the model to buy if the GT is out of the question. Whether you should opt for the RCZ over the Audi TT though is dependable on budget, with the TT adding a premium of £1,000 for the equivalent diesel model. For the price and limited edition appeal though, the Red Carbon edition is certainly worthy of consideration.

I really wish they'd get around to bringing some of that driver engagement back to their more pedestrian models. That's what was so great about classic Peugeot: they made ordinary, everyday cars that just so happened to drive better than they had any right to. I want a modern 205, 106 or 306.
